Psychotherapy for Adults and Teens

During therapy a safe and trusting space is provided where we work together as a team to better understand, cope with and master the challenges that are facing you. I have assisted clients with a range of personal difficulties such as emotional problems, anxiety, depression, overthinking, anger, relationship difficulties, finding your life’s purpose, bereavement, self-esteem issues, personal growth, career dissatisfaction and feelings of being ‘stuck’ in life.

Couples & Relationship Counselling

Both  members of the couple are given equal space to work through the issues that they find important. When you work with an objective therapist, the pace is controlled so that each member feels heard. With couples counselling, the focus is often on enhancing the strength of the relationship, understanding your own and your partner’s unique needs and on improving communication. Both members of the pair will be encouraged to dig deep and do as much as they can to shift forward on the relationship goals. Any relationship that needs improving may benefit from relationship counselling including siblings, parents and grown-up children, friends, colleagues and many others.

Children's Play Therapy

Through the use of toys, games, stories and art children learn to make sense of, express and manage their difficult feelings. Unexpressed feelings often impact negatively on children’s behaviour, academic performance, and social relationships. Parent guidance is weaved into the sessions as well so that caregivers too learn new ways to help their children thrive in their home environment.

Parent Guidance

A helping hand is often just what you need to get your child to flourish. I work with you, the caregiver, providing tools that you can take home to enhance both your and your child’s happiness. These may include understanding the underlying reasons behind your child’s behaviour or misbehaviour in order to bring about the changes you want, more effective discipline methods, building a stronger bond with your child and ways to help your child become a more thoughtful, responsible person.

Psychotherapy Supervision

Do you need to consult with an experienced psychologist  over your more difficult cases? Getting supervision is one way to stay on track with your clinical work. I have many years of supervision experience with students, interns and qualified psychologists. I am able to provide input on what may be going on with complex therapy cases, process issues such as transference/counter-transference as well as your personal development as a psychology professional.
